Biography:
Sir Anthony Hopkins was born on December 31, 1937, in Margam, Port Talbot, Wales. From a young age, he showed a strong interest in the arts, particularly music and acting. He studied at the Royal Welsh College of Music & Drama and later trained at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art (RADA) in London. Hopkins became a naturalized American citizen in 2000 but has always remained proud of his Welsh roots.

Personal Life:
Hopkins has been married three times. Since 2003, he has been married to Stella Arroyave, a Colombian-born actress and antiques dealer. He has one daughter, Abigail Hopkins, from his first marriage, though their relationship has been distant. Known for his private nature, Hopkins has openly spoken about his past struggles with alcoholism, from which he recovered in the mid-1970s. He is also a painter and composer, often sharing his artwork and piano pieces with fans.

Film Career:
Anthony Hopkins is considered one of the greatest actors of his generation. He gained international fame for his iconic role as Dr. Hannibal Lecter in The Silence of the Lambs

(1991), for which he won the Academy Award for Best Actor. He reprised the role in Hannibal (2001) and Red Dragon (2002).

Throughout his career, Hopkins has worked with some of the most respected directors and starred in numerous acclaimed films, including The Remains of the Day (1993), Nixon (1995), Amistad (1997), The Mask of Zorro (1998), and The Father (2020), which earned him his second Oscar for Best Actor at the age of 83. He is also known for playing Odin in Marvel’s Thor series and for his role as Dr. Robert Ford in the HBO series Westworld.

Hopkins is celebrated for his intense preparation, commanding screen presence, and extraordinary versatility. In 1993, he was knighted by Queen Elizabeth II for his services to drama.
