Poem by Rainer Maria Rilke:

When your gaze first caught me
I was as small as could be,
and I blossomed like a linden branch
within you, silently.

From smallness I had no name,
and it burned within my heart,
until you’d say that now I am
so great I match each part:

There I feel that I am one
with mountain, sea, and myth,
and like the fragrance of summer wine
I leave a trace on your soul’s breath…
