I Like Nothing
“I like nothing,”
said a traveler on the bus,
“not the radio,
not the morning papers,
not the castles on the hills.
I want to cry.”
The driver said:
“Wait until we reach the station,
and alone, as much as you want, cry!”
A lady said:
“Me too, the same. I like nothing.
I showed my son my grave,
he liked it and lay down in it,
without even saying goodbye.”
A university man said:
“Me too, I like nothing.
I studied archaeology,
but failed to discover identity in stone.
Tell me, am I truly myself?”
A soldier said:
“Me too, the same, I like nothing.
I always circle around a ghost
that circles me.”
The angry driver said:
“Well then,
we’ve reached the last station.
So, get ready to get off…”
But they suddenly screamed:
“We want to go beyond the station.
So drive on!”
While I say:
“I am like them too. I like nothing.
But I am
tired from the journey.
So let me get off here!”
