Leo Messi and Inter Miami Advance in the Club World Cup, Set to Face PSG

The Club World Cup continued with the match between Inter Miami and Palmeiras, which ended in a 2-2 draw.

In a dramatic encounter, Leo Messi and his teammates took the lead twice, but the Brazilian side equalized with two late goals in the match played at the “Hard Rock Stadium” in Miami, Florida, United States.

The MLS team went ahead in the 16th minute after a counterattack and a brilliant finish by Tadeo Allende, assisted by Luis Suárez.

The Uruguayan striker later scored a stunning goal himself after a masterful run in the 65th minute. However, Palmeiras never gave up and reduced the deficit in the 80th minute through Paulinho, who struck a simple shot.

Then, Mauricio leveled the score seven minutes later, in the 87th minute, securing Palmeiras the top spot in Group A.

Nevertheless, Lionel Messi and Inter Miami advanced to the knockout stage by finishing second in the group.

Now, in the Round of 16, the American team will face the current European champions, Paris Saint-Germain, this Sunday in Atlanta, Georgia.

For the eight-time Ballon d’Or winner, this will be a reunion with his former team, where he played for a short period after leaving Barcelona.

The Parisians are considered favorites in this clash, but Messi and his teammates will aim for a miracle and try to reach the quarterfinals of the Club World Cup.
