Barcelona is reportedly facing the challenge of managing several potential departures ahead of the new season, with three exits considered the most likely.
According to The Athletic, goalkeeper Marc-André ter Stegen is at the center of discussions regarding a possible exit during this transfer window.
The arrival of García and the club’s plan to make him the first-choice keeper places the German goalkeeper in a difficult position.
Although Ter Stegen is the team captain and under contract until 2028, his top priority is to maintain his status as Germany’s number one goalkeeper for the upcoming World Cup, especially following Manuel Neuer’s retirement from international football.
To achieve this, Ter Stegen will need regular playing time next season. Barcelona’s board is reportedly open to the idea of letting the 33-year-old leave as part of a broader strategy to reduce the club’s wage bill.
Forward Ansu Fati, 22, is another player expected to depart. He is said to have accepted that a loan move this summer would be the best option for his development. The club hopes to finalize a destination for Fati in the coming days.
More players are likely to leave as Barcelona looks to balance its squad and finances. Pau Víctor is reportedly open to a move that would guarantee him more consistent playing time.
Although the coaching staff appreciated his attitude last season and would like to continue monitoring his progress, the club would consider a bid of around €20 million for the player. A loan deal for Víctor is also expected to draw interest from other clubs.
Pablo Torre is expected to follow a similar path to Víctor, potentially leaving on loan, but Barcelona is eager to retain the option of a future return.
Additionally, defensive duo Ronald Araújo and Andreas Christensen remain under review.
While the club would be willing to listen to offers, both players have expressed their desire to stay with Barcelona for the upcoming season.
