RMC Sport reports that Mauro Icardi reached an agreement with Galatasaray a few days ago – but PSG and the Turkish side have yet to find common ground. Fenerbahce are also said to be interested, with the transfer window closing this Thursday.
Foot Mercato reported that the Argentinian striker was hoping to join the Turkish giants on loan without an option to buy in the coming hours.
According to L’Equipe, Fernabahçe are aiming to beat their rivals’ bid for Icardi – and also entered into talks for the striker last weekend, with the player interested in completing a move to Turkey.
Icardi and his wife and agent, Wanda Nara, went to Istanbul last week to meet the Galatasaray board. Their response to the visit was very positive – they felt very welcome and appreciated their hospitality.
Discussions between the two clubs have accelerated in recent hours – initially there was talk of a possible purchase option included in the loan, but that has proved too complicated and is moving towards an outright loan deal.
PSG have also agreed to pay part of Icardi’s wages for the duration of the loan – the 29-year-old is now trying to put pressure on all parties to make the move possible. Icardi has yet to play a single minute for PSG this season and is aware that his place in the World Cup squad is uncertain
