Poem by 𝐂𝐇𝐀𝐑𝐋𝐄𝐒 ππ”πŠπŽπ–π’πŠπˆ

I Let Her Go…
And then, for years, I gathered her across the world in other women.
Some laughed like her, some spoke like her, some had her facial features.
I found her palms, discovered her lips, touched her skin, kissed her cheeksβ€”
All of it, in other women.

They were all similar to her in some way,
Even when I was searching for something different.
Some mourned like her, some embraced like her, some had her warmth.
I found her face, inhaled her scent, touched her body, tangled my fingers in her hairβ€”
All of it, in other women.

Some loved like her, some imagined like her, some walked like her.
I found her eyes, placed my face against her neck, rested on her shoulders,
Trembled on her chestβ€”
All of it, in other women.

None of them were different enough,
None of them were quite the same.
That’s how it all goes…
When you miss someone,
The whole world twists itself trying to resemble her.
