The deal is now almost official. Franco Mastantuono will play for Real Madrid.
“River Plate has reached an agreement with Real Madrid for Franco Mastantuono for €40 million,” a River Plate spokesperson told Reuters.
Fabrizio Romano has also confirmed the news, stating that Mastantuono was fully convinced about joining Real Madrid after speaking with Xabi Alonso.
“Real Madrid has just signed one of the best young players in South America,” said the transfer expert.
“This amazing youngster plays as a number 10 but can also play on the wings.”
He will join Real Madrid in December, after representing River Plate at the Club World Cup this June.
