Bruno Fernandes has reportedly rejected a ‘crazy offer’ from the Saudi club Al Hilal, but it is not guaranteed that he will remain at Manchester United.
The Portuguese international, who is the captain at Old Trafford, received a lucrative contract offer from the Middle East.
It is said that he has already turned it down with the intention of continuing his career in Europe.
Fernandes and his teammates had a miserable season, finishing 15th in the Premier League table and losing the Europa League final to Tottenham.
Al Hilal had made an offer to the 30-year-old in an attempt to convince him to follow in the footsteps of his compatriot Cristiano Ronaldo, but Fernandes is not ready to take that path just yet.
“Bruno Fernandes has rejected Al Hilal’s proposal. Despite the crazy contract offer from the Saudi club, Bruno Fernandes wants to continue playing in Europe.”
“The Manchester United captain wants to play at the highest level in Europe. The decision has been made,” wrote Fabrizio Romano.
Although Fernandes has closed the door on a move to the Middle East, he may still bid farewell to the Red Devils.
He has also been linked with transfers to Real Madrid and Bayern Munich, due to the lack of European football at Manchester United for the 2025/2026 season.
