Three La Liga clubs—Girona, Rayo Vallecano, and Sevilla—are showing interest in signing Real Madrid’s Lucas Vazquez on a free transfer this summer, as his contract expires with no renewal planned.
Vazquez, aged 33, played his final La Liga game for Real Madrid, marking the end of a 15-year tenure that began in the club’s youth academy and included a loan spell at Espanyol in 2014-15.
His versatility as a right-back, right-winger, or midfielder, along with his professionalism and experience, having won five Champions League titles and four La Liga crowns, makes him an attractive prospect.
Girona, aiming to strengthen their squad for a demanding season with European ambitions, are particularly keen. Sevilla see Vazquez as a valuable addition to inject leadership and experience after an inconsistent campaign.
Rayo Vallecano offers a sentimental option, allowing Vazquez to stay in Madrid. Despite interest from Saudi Arabia, Vazquez is likely to remain in Spain, though he has yet to decide his next move.
