While it seems clear that Sergio Conceicao will leave, Milan are still tryjng to find a new coach, with Maurizio Sarri, Roberto De Zerbi, Max Allegri and Vincenzo Italiano the likely candidates
. According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, the focus is on bringing in an Italian coach who already knows Serie A well, especially if they continue to be without a director of sport figure to help him.
Their new favourite is Italiano, who lead Bologna past Milan yesterday, but he is in talks to extend his current contract at the Stadio Dall’Ara. De Zerbi is also unlikely to be drawn away from Olympique Marseille after securing their Champions League qualification.
This leaves free agents like Allegri, who seems to be much closer to the Roma job than a return to Milan, and Sarri. It not the first time that Sarri has been approached by Milan, as he was in talks when Silvio Berlusconi was still the President. Sarri has been a free agent since walking away from Lazio in March 2024.
