FC Barcelona coach Hansi Flick, after the 4-3 win over Real Madrid in La Liga, stated:
“Our journey started last year and it’s not over yet. We need to improve a lot in defense to be more consistent. Because against teams with the quality of Real Madrid, when we make mistakes, they immediately take advantage of them in transition, attacking the space behind our defense. We also need to learn how to defend better.
My players reacted fantastically and showed an incredible mentality to overturn the craziest situations this season. But we will need to make fewer mistakes next season.”
The German coach said that to win the title, Barcelona still needs three more points.
“A title with a seven-point lead, three games before the end? In football, you never know what can happen. We are in a good position, but we still need three points to become champions. It would be best to get them as soon as possible.
All the remaining matches will be tough (against Espanyol on May 15, Athletic Bilbao on May 25, and Villarreal at home on May 18), but I think we have the quality to achieve it,” Flick added.
