BUDS

1

How far you banish yourself
I feel you closer
My fingers are full of your perfume
My cheeks with your color,
My eyes with your looks,
And my hair with the fragrance of your chest

2

Sometimes you become autumn,
And sometimes spring
And when you are absent
Autumn pours down from my stature
And when I see you
My life is full of flowers

3

When you melt in my love
You look like a man
Drunk of love not of wine

4

If I had the ability,
I would collect the beauty of the world in your
stature
In order to engrave that picture
When you said: In my looks
You are more beautiful than all beauty

5

You told me, O beautiful lady
As if you were a peacock
With these soft clothes,
Yesterday I saw a beautiful peacock
In the garden of birds
As if its wings were mine
As you told me,
And the lofty blue neck
Is as your neck in your blue shirt

6

If I couldn’t
Describe you as a lover
Excuse me for I was of those nymphs families
Who have not learned the lessons of love

7

You look like the daffodil flower very much
You are more beautiful than every flower,
And your fragrance is more wonderful than all flowers

8

If you want to ask for my hand
Tell my mother
Not to protest against a golden belt
For your arms round my waist
Are so enough for me

9

When my looks melt
In the looks of your eyes
My lips send good news of love
To all lovers of the world

10

Take two pieces of embers
And extinguish them on my head
As Kurdish traditions
Until the awe of your love
seeps from my heart
And I put you in my lap.
