The media outlet El Nacional has reported that Barcelona is considering a move for Viktor Gyokeres, the Swedish striker who is shining at Sporting Lisbon.
Although he is not their main priority, the 26-year-old continues to impress with his performances, making him an attractive option for the club.
Sporting Lisbon has set a price tag of €65 million for Gyokeres—a figure that may seem high given Barcelona’s financial situation.
However, considering his form, physical attributes, and style of play—all of which fit well into Hansi Flick’s system—Barcelona is seriously evaluating the opportunity.
Initially, Barcelona had planned to wait until 2026 to address the central striker position, especially since Robert Lewandowski’s contract is nearing its end. But the chance to secure Gyokeres now, at a potentially lower price than his future value, is being taken into serious consideration.
In order for this move to happen, Barcelona will need to generate sufficient funds. This means selling key players such as Ronald Araujo and Ferran Torres.
Barcelona is open to offers in the region of €60 million for the Uruguayan defender, with interest coming from the Premier League and the Saudi Pro League.
Meanwhile, Torres—who has had a solid season so far—could also be sold for the right price.
If a €40 million offer arrives, Barcelona would be willing to part ways with the Spanish forward, who remains appreciated by the German coach.
The potential sale of these two players would allow Barcelona to raise around €100 million, making it easier to afford the cost of Gyokeres’s transfer.
