Ballon d’Or Contenders Currently Playing in La Liga

Even though football is undoubtedly a team sport, the beautiful game still allows individual stars to shine.

The Ballon d’Or is the most prestigious individual award a player can receive. Now, with the 2024/25 season entering its final stages, fans are debating online and assessing which footballers might take home the honor.

Rodri’s injury near the end of the season in September rules him out of the race, but some of the best players in La Liga remain strong candidates for the 2025 Ballon d’Or.

Raphinha
Barcelona’s resurgence under Hansi Flick has been remarkable, and much of it is thanks to Raphinha. The Brazilian, currently listed at 2/1 with Coral to win this year’s award, has been unstoppable, reports Klankosova.tv.

Raphinha has scored the most goals in the Champions League (12) and also leads the assist chart with seven to his name.

Vinicius Junior
With eight goals in the Champions League, plus 11 goals and five assists in La Liga this season, the Real Madrid and Brazil star remains in contention for the Ballon d’Or.

However, considering Real Madrid’s failure in the UCL, last year’s campaign may have been his best shot at the prize.

Kylian Mbappé
The Frenchman has adapted well to his new environment, registering seven goals and one assist in Europe. His return of 22 goals and three assists in La Liga is also highly impressive.

Robert Lewandowski
Highlighting the dominance of Real Madrid and Barcelona this season, Robert Lewandowski is another contender.

The Polish striker, still going strong at 36, is listed at 8/1 odds, suggesting he’s not entirely out of the Ballon d’Or race.

He is the top scorer in La Liga with 25 goals and the second-highest scorer in the Champions League with 11, proving that Lewandowski’s longevity is truly exceptional.
