Liverpool has announced that it has signed a new contract with defender Virgil Van Dijk.
The Dutchman has agreed to a new deal that will keep him at the club beyond the 2024/25 season.
“I’m very happy and proud. I’m filled with emotion as I talk about this. It’s a feeling of pride, a feeling of joy. It’s just incredible. To continue with the club for another two years is amazing, and I’m very happy,” said the Reds captain.
The 33-year-old joined Liverpool from Southampton in January 2018.
He has made 314 appearances to date, scoring 27 goals.
