Poem by Emily Dickinson

THE MOUNTAIN
The Mountain sat upon the Plain
In his tremendous Chair
His observation omnifold,
His inquest, everywhere

The Seasons played around his knees
Like Children round a sire
Grandfather of the Days is He
Of Dawn, the Ancestor
