Real Madrid Earned a Record Sum of Money After Winning the Champions League Last Year

UEFA has revealed that Real Madrid earned a staggering €139 million after being crowned Champions League winners in 2024.

Carlo Ancelotti’s team lifted the trophy for the 15th time after defeating Borussia Dortmund 2-0 in the final.

Another successful European campaign saw Ancelotti guide the team to both the La Liga and Champions League titles, and the Italian manager is on track to do it again this season.

According to financial reports published by UEFA, Real Madrid tops the list as the club with the highest earnings from last season.

Real Madrid’s total earnings came from a €2 billion competition fund, which is set to increase by 25 percent this season as part of a new, expanded format with more teams and matches involved.

The total sum depends on several factors, including sponsorship deals allocated by European football’s governing body ahead of each tournament.

UEFA’s payment model for the 2024/2025 season involved distributing funds in installments, with Real Madrid receiving €36 million. Additionally, they secured another €14 million from television rights.

Real Madrid aims to secure another massive payday in this season’s Champions League—even if they don’t manage to defend their title.

That’s because Los Blancos will take part in the expanded Club World Cup format, which has a total prize pool of €910 million.

The team that wins all of their matches on the path to lifting the trophy could earn up to €113 million.
