Di Canio Speaks on Alexander-Arnold’s Transfer to Real Madrid

West Ham legend Paolo Di Canio has commented on the possible transfer of Liverpool defender Trent Alexander-Arnold to Real Madrid this summer.

The 26-year-old is expected to join the Spanish giants once his contract with Liverpool expires, in what could be one of the most high-profile deals of the upcoming transfer window.

In an interview with FootItalia, Di Canio stated that a move to Real Madrid would not only give Alexander-Arnold the opportunity to win trophies at the highest level but also enrich his personal and professional experience.

“I can’t blame him for this decision because when Real Madrid calls, it’s not just about being the biggest club in the world. There, you can win something every year at the highest level. But he will also learn Spanish along with his family,” said Di Canio.

“This is part of a player’s culture—he can enrich himself for two or three years and then return to England with great experience, not just in football but also in his personal life,” he added.

According to foreign media, Real Madrid is ready to offer Alexander-Arnold an annual salary of €15 million, a significantly higher amount than what he currently earns at Liverpool.

Additionally, the chance to win La Liga and the Champions League with Real Madrid is a huge motivation for any player.
