Carlo Ancelotti is reportedly in talks to leave the Spanish La Liga giants, Real Madrid.
In December 2023, it was confirmed that the Italian had signed a new contract that would keep him at the Bernabéu until the summer of 2026. However, he had previously been linked with a departure from the Spanish capital.
On Wednesday afternoon, it was claimed that the 65-year-old has entered discussions to leave Madrid.
According to Globo, Ancelotti has re-entered talks to leave Madrid in order to take on the role of head coach of the Brazilian national team.
On social media, they wrote: “CBF (the Brazilian Football Confederation) has already resumed contacts with the aim of having Carlo Ancelotti lead the national team at the 2026 World Cup.”
“The Real Madrid coach was open to the idea but warned that any progress would be conditioned on waiting until the end of the Club World Cup.”
Spanish news outlet Relevo also confirmed the news initially reported by Globo and stated that the move would not materialize before this summer’s Club World Cup.
