Poem by GRIGOR JOVANI

ANTARCTICA
On all five continents
every year, flowers bloom
but only in Antarctica,
flowers remain in gloom.

In this way I can explain
a kingdom of a mysterious spark;
Envious that it can’t bloom
it froze at the edge of dark.

O God, I have but one shyness,
Antarctica is what I fear,
because it can’t see the flowers
the day to freeze them is near.

Translated from Albanian to English
