The song titled “My Soul Is a Light Feather” has just been posted on American songwriter Mike Turner’s channel on “Youtube” with lyrics by Mike Turner & Irma Kurti, an Italo-Albanian poet and lyricist. This track was produced through Blue Uke Studio recording project. Cover art image was created with Canva. The song genre is something of a blend between blues, folk-rock and progressive folk/blues. Regarding this song lyrics, Mike Turner says:
“What appealed to me in Irma’s original poem was the feeling of our souls transcending the cares and worries of the mortal world, and floating like a feather amongst the prismatic/kaleidoscopic snowflakes borne by the winds. Leaving all cares behind and floating free like a feather. I find that imagery very appealing and that’s what I tried to capture, not only with the revised lyrics but also in the musical aspects, particularly the flute solo and then the flute over the closing chorus. That was one of the effects that took me so long to work out – the rest of the song is more in low bass tones, including my voice, and the flute, along with some high clarinet effect under the vocals, I think help to lift the song into the “floating” feeling that I think the lyrics deserve.”
