There is no turning back, Real Madrid is starting a squad revolution: Three players will be sold.

Real Madrid is reportedly set to offload Aurelien Tchouameni, Ferland Mendy, and Lucas Vazquez, according to a report from Fichajes.net.

This comes after Los Blancos suffered a 5-2 defeat against Barcelona in the Spanish Super Cup on Sunday, January 12. Their performance against Celta Vigo wasn’t much better, as they needed extra time to advance in the Copa del Rey.

Tchouameni has struggled as an improvised center-back for Madrid this season. The Frenchman has also been responsible for several defensive mistakes that have led to goals conceded. As a result, Madrid is reportedly willing to sell him, especially since he has been linked with Liverpool in recent months.

Tchouameni has made 23 appearances for Madrid this season and is under contract at the Bernabeu until June 2028.

Given his €80 million market value according to Transfermarkt, the proceeds from his potential sale could be used to sign a new midfielder.

Meanwhile, Mendy’s performances have declined this season, as he has failed to register a goal contribution in 20 matches. Additionally, his contract at the Bernabeu expires this summer.

Fichajes.net reports that the Frenchman has requested a salary increase. However, Madrid is reportedly unwilling to meet his demands. This could indicate that they may be ready to part ways with him at the end of the 2024-25 season.

Lastly, Vazquez is another player whose contract at the Bernabeu expires this summer. The Spaniard’s performances as a right-back have also been inconsistent.

Madrid’s reported pursuit of Liverpool’s Trent Alexander-Arnold could be another sign that they are considering letting Vazquez go.

In 25 appearances this season, the Spaniard has scored two goals and provided three assists.
