Barcelona players won the Spanish Super Cup last night, defeating their historic rival, Real Madrid, with a 5-2 scoreline.
From the final played in Saudi Arabia, the club not only added another trophy but also increased their revenue.
The Catalan club earned around 9 million euros from the victory, according to AS. This amount is significant for them, as it is well known that Barcelona has been facing financial difficulties for years, and this revenue will undoubtedly help them work toward achieving positive finances.
Real Madrid, on the other hand, earned 7 million euros as the finalist in the Spanish Super Cup.
Athletic Bilbao and Mallorca also competed in the semifinals. Athletic Bilbao earned 2.15 million euros, while Mallorca received 900,000 euros for their participation. However, this amount surpassed 1 million euros after Barcelona and Real Madrid agreed to share 200,000 dollars each from their base payments as part of an agreement with the RFEF.
