Liverpool Target Former Man City Star as Nunez Replacement

Liverpool is reportedly interested in signing a former Manchester City player as a potential replacement for Darwin Nunez.

In the summer of 2022, Nunez completed a transfer from Benfica to Liverpool in a deal worth €64 million, which could eventually rise to a club-record €85 million.

However, the 25-year-old has struggled to win the hearts of fans due to inconsistent performances that have faced heavy criticism.

So far in the 2024/2025 season, Nunez has scored four goals and provided three assists in 23 matches across all competitions.

With the January transfer window approaching, it was reported that AC Milan has shown interest in signing him.

It has been suggested that the Rossoneri are willing to pay €5 million for a loan deal and potentially purchase the Uruguayan for €45 million.

Following these reports, Liverpool has started searching for a new player and has now been linked with former Manchester City forward Liam Delap, who is shining at Ipswich Town, according to Telegrafi.

The 21-year-old has so far scored six goals and provided one assist in 17 Premier League matches.

According to the Daily Mail, Delap is being targeted by several English clubs, including Manchester City itself, as well as Liverpool, Chelsea, and Manchester United.
