The French national team secured a 3-1 victory away against Italy in the final round of the group stage of this season’s UEFA Nations League.
The French took the lead early, with Adrien Rabiot heading in a goal in the second minute after a cross from Lucas Digne to make it 1-0.
The visitors doubled their lead, with Digne playing a key role once again. In the 33rd minute, the French defender’s free-kick forced goalkeeper Vicario to deflect the ball into his own net for a 2-0 scoreline.
Italy responded swiftly, pulling a goal back through Andrea Cambiasso in the 35th minute. Cambiasso converted a cross from Federico Dimarco to bring the score to 2-1.
However, in the second half, the “Les Bleus” extended their lead. Adrien Rabiot struck again in the 65th minute with another header, securing the final 3-1 scoreline.
France now sits atop the group with 13 points, equal to Italy in second place. However, the French team leads the group thanks to a superior goal difference.
