Real Madrid forward Rodrygo has been frustrated since Kylian Mbappe’s arrival at the Santiago Bernabeu, and this has alerted Premier League clubs.
Mbappe finally joined Real Madrid as a free agent from PSG last summer, but things haven’t gone as expected for the French international. The 25-year-old has scored six goals in 10 La Liga matches, three of which were penalties, while Madrid is currently nine points behind leaders Barcelona.
Mbappe’s arrival has had the most impact on Rodrygo, who now finds himself more frequently on the bench.
According to a report from SPORT, the Brazilian feels that all his efforts over the past four seasons to secure a place in the starting lineup have been ‘completely undermined’ by Mbappe’s transfer. Rodrygo was a crucial player for Carlo Ancelotti last year, starting in 12 Champions League games, where he scored five goals and provided two assists.
However, his role has changed drastically this season, with the 23-year-old only coming on against Milan in the 74th minute.
Since Rodrygo is struggling to find minutes in the Spanish capital, it seems this has created a perfect opportunity for English clubs to show their interest.
According to the Spanish outlet Fichajes, Manchester City are prepared to make a €150 million offer for Rodrygo, while Liverpool has also been previously linked with a potential move for him.
