Roy Keane Identifies Manchester United’s ‘Major Issue’ That Ruben Amorim Must Solve

Ruben Amorim will face a ‘major issue’ when he takes over at Manchester United, according to Roy Keane, who had some pointed comments about certain players on the team.

After days of speculation, it was confirmed on Friday that Amorim would succeed Erik Ten Hag as manager, having won four trophies with Sporting Lisbon.

The 39-year-old, who signed a contract until June 2027 with an option for an additional year, will face his first match against Ipswich Town on November 24.

Amorim will have plenty of work ahead of him following United’s poor start to the 2024/2025 season.

In fact, Roy Keane has stated that the Portuguese coach will encounter not one but two significant problems upon his arrival. “There are some players in United’s team in key positions who simply can’t run, which is a big problem.”“But they also have players in the team who don’t want to run, and when they do, they don’t run enough or fast enough.”

“There are players displaying this kind of behavior, and you have to try to improve them. This team doesn’t run, and that’s a major issue.”

“They have talented players, but if you’re not willing to put in the effort to run, you’re not going anywhere,” Keane said.
