Manchester United has announced the appointment of Ruben Amorim as head coach of the men’s first team, pending work permit requirements.
He will join the club until June 2027, with an option for an additional year, after fulfilling his obligations with his current club. Ruben is set to join Manchester United on Monday, November 11.
Ruben is one of the most exciting and highly regarded young coaches in European football. Highly decorated as both a player and a coach, his achievements include winning the Primeira Liga in Portugal twice with Sporting CP, the first of which marked the club’s first league title in 19 years.
Ruud van Nistelrooy will continue leading the team until Ruben joins.
