The Contract Renewal Problem – Three Major European Clubs Enter the Race for Vinicius

Vinicius Junior has been widely discussed this week after it was confirmed that he missed out on the 2024 Ballon d’Or – instead, the award went to Manchester City and Spain star Rodri Hernandez.

Due to this snub, there are growing rumors of a possible departure from Real Madrid.

Saudi Arabia remains eager to attract Vinicius, but clubs in Europe are also hoping for a chance. According to Relevo, clubs like Paris Saint-Germain, Manchester United, and Chelsea are patiently waiting for an opportunity to make a move for the Brazilian superstar.

Real Madrid is not deterred by this interest, for the moment. They hope to agree on a new contract with Vinicius, as his current deal expires in 2027.

However, their latest attempt to extend his contract was momentarily rejected. Efforts to reach an agreement on a new contract with Vinicius will increase over the next 18 months, as Real Madrid aims to avoid losing him as a free agent at the end of the 2026/27 season.

If this becomes a reality, they will attempt to profit, and here could lie the opportunity for the major European clubs that are interested.
