Manchester United legend Ruud Van Nistelrooy has become the temporary manager of Manchester United.
Van Nistelrooy replaced Erik Ten Hag, who was dismissed two days ago following poor results from the “Red Devils.”
The Dutch legend addressed United fans through a letter.
“As I’m sure everyone can imagine, I am writing these notes with a great amount of mixed emotions. Erik ten Hag brought me back to Manchester United in the summer, and while I’ve only been part of the coaching staff here for a few months, I will always be grateful for the opportunity he gave me, and I am saddened to see him leave.”
“Even on an interim basis, it is a great honor to manage the club I love for as long as I’m asked to do so. I can promise to continue giving everything, in whatever capacity, to try to turn our fortunes around.”
“Despite our results, I love coming back to Old Trafford and working with the team and staff every day. We have seen the potential of the squad at times this season, but clearly not often enough. Now is the time for everyone at the club to work together, give everything, and turn things around this season while we still have time,” said Van Nistelrooy.
Manchester United is currently in 14th place in the Premier League with a total of 11 points, and it is expected that Portuguese manager Ruben Amorim will be officially announced in the coming days.
