Barcelona is determined to renew the contract of Spanish star Lamine Yamal next year, securing his long-term future at the club.
The 17-year-old’s current deal runs until 2026, but the Catalans have already reached an agreement with Yamal and his agent, Jorge Mendes.
The parties are said to have agreed to extend the Spaniard’s contract until 2030 once he turns 18. Mendes met with Barcelona president Joan Laporta and sporting director Deco earlier this month to discuss the renewal.
The club aims to officially confirm Yamal’s new contract next year, which is expected to include significant improvements to his salary.
A release clause is also anticipated to be part of the contract, which is expected to be no less than 1 billion euros.
