Daily Express: Albania, the hidden gem of Europe that exceeds all tourist expectations

With the rising costs of summer vacations, tourists are seeking destinations that offer unique experiences without breaking the bank, writes Unzela Khan in an article published by the British daily “Daily Express.”

We have discovered several lesser-known yet budget-friendly places that challenge tourists’ standard expectations, providing real adventures at minimal expense.

Jason Higgs, a travel expert, has identified nine hidden gems that are affordable yet rich in experiences, with Albania leading the list.

Albania, a European destination with bright blue seas and beautiful cities, has an average daily cost of just 27 euros.
“Our research shows that some of the most unforgettable travel experiences can be found in the world’s less-explored corners,” said Higgs.

“These destinations offer significant savings, along with authentic cultural immersion and stunning natural beauty,” he added.

Albania, this Balkan treasure, boasts breathtaking mountain landscapes, beautiful coastal towns, and a rich cultural heritage.

From the historic city of Berat to the picturesque Albanian Riviera, Albania offers a wealth of affordable experiences compared to its European neighbors.

“In Albania, you can spend an average of 27-37 euros per day, including accommodation, transportation, and food. Delicious Mediterranean cuisine, like lamb, cheese, and seafood, is very inexpensive,” said Higgs.
