Haaland Unstoppable, Breaks a 30-Year-Old Record After Hat-Trick Against West Ham

Erling Haaland scored his second consecutive hat-trick as Manchester City defeated West Ham in London, breaking a 30-year-old record in the process.

There are few ways to stop Haaland, and most attempts fail.

Last week, Ipswich were the victims of the Norwegian’s seventh Premier League hat-trick, and he added another in front of West Ham’s fans.

He has now become the first player since Paul Jewell of Bradford City, who 30 years ago, scored two consecutive hat-tricks in the first three opening matches.

If we do a simple calculation, Haaland scores a hat-trick every nine matches. To compare this with other strikers, Harry Kane took 320 matches to reach eight hat-tricks, while Sergio Aguero has 12 hat-tricks, achieving this every 24 matches.

Haaland appears refreshed after the summer break, and his record for goals in a single league season is 35, but he seems ready to break that this year.

The 24-year-old will have the opportunity to expand his goal-scoring record after the international break when City hosts Brentford at the ‘Etihad Stadium.’
