Arsenal held to a draw at home against Brighton

Arsenal drew 1-1 at home against Brighton in a match valid for the third week of the Premier League.

Mikel Arteta’s team could not secure their third consecutive victory in as many games, as they were held by Brighton at the Emirates.

The first half of the match was characterized by the home team’s dominance, who, in addition to creating chances, also scored a goal.

The only goal of the first half came in the 38th minute, with Kai Havertz scoring a beautiful goal for 1-0 after an assist from Bukayo Saka.

In the second half, the visitors were the better, more aggressive side and created more opportunities, largely because Arsenal was left without Declan Rice, who was sent off with a red card in the 49th minute.

After this dismissal, Brighton increased their attacks and in the 58th minute managed to equalize the score to 1-1 through Joao Pedro.

Arsenal had an ideal chance with Havertz (75’), but the goalkeeper denied him the goal, and other chances went unconverted, leading to a 1-1 draw.

After this draw, Brighton finds itself in first place with seven points, the same as Arsenal, who are in second place.

In the next match, Arsenal travels to Tottenham Hotspur, while Brighton hosts Ipswich Town.
