This is the staggering amount that Lionel Messi refused from Saudi Arabia.

A year ago, clubs from Saudi Arabia, with the help of the Public Investment Fund, were signing quality players from Europe.

They were offering staggering salaries, even convincing one of the best players in history, Cristiano Ronaldo. He is paid 200 million euros per year by Al-Nassr. But Al-Hilal was willing to offer even more to Lionel Messi, but he refused.

According to Argentine media reports, Messi turned down a weekly salary ranging from 15 to 20 million euros to join Inter Miami.

The report from “Fox Sports Argentina” adds that his annual salary, including bonuses, could have reached up to 900 million euros or, in the best case, even over 1 billion euros.

Lionel Messi has been part of Inter Miami in MLS since the summer of last year, with a contract until December 2025. Messi earns 54 million dollars at the club managed by David Beckham.
