Virgil van Dijk has said that Liverpool has yet to offer him a new contract.
Van Dijk’s current deal expires next summer, and the 33-year-old could begin negotiations with foreign clubs starting in January.
Van Dijk was asked about talks for a new deal after Liverpool’s 4-1 win against Sevilla, and he said, “There are no changes at the moment.”
When asked about the upcoming season and the lack of signings so far this summer, Van Dijk added, “I’m positive, I’m confident.
“I think we need to make some signings based on how long the season will be, but I believe they are working behind the scenes, and I’m fully convinced and trust the club that they will do the right thing for us and assemble the best possible squad to compete in every competition.”
