Lamine Yamal has been in the spotlight following his performance at the European Championship with Spain, where the 17-year-old emerged as one of the key figures in the Iberians’ triumph.
The future looks bright for the forward, but teammate Marc-André ter Stegen is urging the young talent to stay “with feet on the ground.” Ter Stegen emphasized that while Yamal is highly talented, he should not be distracted by praise or comparisons to Lionel Messi.
“We need to give credit to Xavi, who gave him the opportunity. There is something special about him. I hope he keeps his feet on the ground, doesn’t listen to praise, and focuses on the present, continuing to work for the team.
He still has room for improvement; he is very young and just getting started. He has also grown physically. Lamine knows he can rely on me for anything he needs.”
