Thiago Motta Ruthless, Ousts Eight Stars from Juventus

It’s not just Federico Chiesa who is out of Thiago Motta’s first-team plans at Juventus; seven other members of the squad are also set to leave the club before the transfer window closes.

Chiesa was left out of Juventus’ squad for the pre-season friendly against Brest on Saturday, which ended in a 2-2 draw with goals from Dusan Vlahovic and captain Danilo.

New Juventus manager Thiago Motta confirmed after the match that Chiesa was left out of the team “for transfer reasons” and was advised to find a new solution as soon as possible.

However, Motta also confirmed that Chiesa was notified the same as “everyone else who was left out,” indicating that he is not the only player out of the first-team plans in Turin for the 2024-25 season.

Fabrizio Romano confirms that there are seven other Juventus first-team players who may need to find a new club in the coming weeks.

These include goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny, versatile midfielder Weston McKennie, defenders Mattia De Sciglio and Daniele Rugani, as well as Filip Kostic, Arthur Melo, and Hans Nicolussi Caviglia.

Among these seven players, some have already started exploring moves away from Allianz Stadium, including Rugani, who is expected to join Ajax on loan, and Szczesny, who has been linked with a move to the Saudi Pro League.
