Klopp Distances Himself from England Manager Position

Former Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp says it would be “the biggest loss of face in football history” if he were to take the position of England manager.

The German has been linked with the job, among others, since Gareth Southgate resigned after England’s loss to Spain in the Euro 2024 final.

Klopp, 57, left Liverpool at the end of last season, saying he was “running out of energy” after nine years with the Reds, during which he won the Premier League, Champions League, FA Cup, two League Cups, FIFA Club World Cup, and UEFA Super Cup.

Speaking at the International Coaches Congress in Würzburg, Germany, Klopp was asked if there were any offers on the table.

“At the moment, there’s nothing regarding jobs. No club, no country,” he said.

“England? It would be the biggest loss of face in football history if I said I would make an exception for you.”
