Erik ten Hag believes Manchester United still needs more reinforcements this summer.
The United squad was decimated by injuries last season, with nearly 70 separate instances depriving Ten Hag of key players.
The club has already spent £59 million on Lille center-back Leny Yoro and £36.6 million on Bologna forward Joshua Zirkzee this summer, but Ten Hag wants to add more reinforcements before the transfer window closes.
When asked how many new players he wants, Ten Hag said: “Just to have the strongest squad possible. We have already made two very good signings, so when everyone is ready, we have a team that can beat anyone.
But the depth of the squad needs to be improved because we had injuries. We are vulnerable, and we need to avoid this first by having fewer injuries and second, our squad needs to be as good in depth.
“The quality we have in depth needs to be improved even more because this season will be survival of the fittest.”
United wants to strengthen in the full-back areas and sign a new defensive midfielder if Casemiro or Scott McTominay leave.
They are also in the market for another center-back and have been linked with Everton’s Jarrad Branthwaite and Bayern Munich’s Matthijs de Ligt.
