Barcelona is reportedly planning to buy Spain’s two stars, Nico Williams and Dani Olmo, this summer to further enhance the quality of the squad,
The two Spanish forwards would easily fit into the classic 4-2-3-1 formation of German coach Hansi Flick.
But, how would Flick play and what would be Barcelona’s two possible lineups with Williams and Olmo in the XI?
From four midfielders under Xavi to four attackers under Flick – Barça’s formation would be truly different from what it was before. If the Blaugrana’s ambitious transfer plans leave them without a new defensive midfielder, Pedri and Frenkie de Jong are likely to be the midfield duo (Gavi might be out until 2025, and Gundogan is expected to have a less prominent role). In the second formation, if Barça somehow manages to add Mikel Merino to their roster, the Spaniard would be the team’s new defensive midfielder. He could pair in midfield with Pedri or Gavi when the latter is in form.
