Milan is getting closer to an agreement with AS Monaco for Youssouf Fofana, increasing their offer to 12 million euros plus additional bonuses, while the asking price has dropped to 18 million euros.
According to Sky Sport Italia last night, the latest proposal submitted for the Ligue 1 team is worth 12 million euros plus bonuses.
This is still not enough, but it is a step closer to the asking price, which Monaco is now said to have lowered to 18 million euros.
There is confidence that negotiations can continue to narrow the differences and reach an agreement before the end of the summer, reports Gazeta Express.
Time is on the Rossoneri’s side, as his contract ends in June 2025, and Monaco knows they cannot risk losing him as a free agent next year.
The asking price of 20 million euros is already a bargain for the former Strasbourg star, who moved to Monaco in January 2020 for 15 million euros.
Fofana has 21 appearances with the senior French team, scoring three goals, and has made 173 appearances in Ligue 1.
