In June, they won the Champions League with Real Madrid, but on Friday, Spain’s Joselu and Germany’s Toni Kroos will face off with their national teams in the quarterfinals of the European Championship.
Kroos has already ended his career with the club, hanging up his boots immediately after the final with Borussia Dortmund. Naturally, he hopes that his last match will be the final of the European Championship, which is being held in his homeland, but Joselu wants to spoil this wish.
“I hope we retire Kroos early,” he said to the media, alluding to Spain’s desire for victory.
