Turkey is the eighth and last quarterfinalist of Euro 2024.
The Turks narrowly defeated Austria 1-2 in the Round of 16.
Merih Demiral was Turkey’s hero, scoring both goals.
In the first minute, Demiral beautifully positioned himself after a scramble in the box and scored to make it 0-1.
In the 59th minute, Demiral scored again with a header, following a cross from Arda Guler.
Seven minutes later, Gregoritsch scored to narrow the lead to 1-2.
Until the end, Austria tried to score the equalizing goal but did not succeed.
Thus, in the quarterfinals, Turkey will face the Netherlands, who today eliminated Romania.
