Barcelona will hold talks with Robert Lewandowski regarding his wages for the 2023-24 season as the club looks to make changes in attack.
The Polish striker, who arrived at the Catalan club from Bayern Munich in 2022, is once again the team’s top scorer this season with 24 goals to his name. According to the contract he signed two years ago, Lewandowski’s salary is supposed to increase to 30 million euros for the 2024-2025 season; however, Barcelona will try to negotiate the player’s wage increase and have set up a meeting with his agent.
According to “Sport,” Barcelona’s sports director, Deco, along with president Joan Laporta, are ready to meet with the striker’s representative, Pini Zahavi, who is scheduled to visit the club next week.
While the former La Liga champions still consider Lewandowski an important player for the team, they will take into account the fact that the veteran striker will turn 36 this year. Xavi is on a mission to strengthen his team’s attack ahead of the upcoming season and will look to sign several attacking players.
