The painter (artist) Edmond Dhrami, of Albanian nationality, residing in Italy. Edmond studied first at the Art School in Tirana, and then graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Rome. He has participated in many group and solo exhibitions, and is awarded several times for his new and authentic artistic language. The research in his painting is linked to matter, between formalism and conceptualism. One of Italy’s most important historians and critics, Giovanna Dalla Chiesa, wrote for his painting.
Edmond Dhrami is known in Italy and abroad, also as a portrait painter, and where there is a great interest in this genre from private individuals and collectors in Europe, on whom he also works a lot on commission.
In August 2022, the artist Edmond Dhrami met the Pope and gave him a painting depicting Francis. An internationally renowned artist Dhrami, he has exhibited his works in several cities around the world. In recent years he has lived between Rome, Frosinone and Veroli and then moved to Liguria. Dhrami has gone through the history of modern art through its various phases. For him, Impressionism and Fauvism are tools for a reinterpretation of the spiritual energy that pervades the subject, be it a figure, landscape or internal environment, which borders on a symbolic dimension bordering on the dreamlike. From the geometric or reticular structures, from the interweaving of rectilinear or crescent-shaped planes, which emphasize the tendency to regroup, slowly abandoning the recognizability of shapes and figures, the artist progressively pulverizes the surface, where grains of color such as grams, or atoms of Iuce, are deposited and slide until they dematerialize into clouds, vapors, atmospheric dissolves.
