This is Robert Lewandowski’s biggest regret

Although there have been recent speculations about Robert Lewandowski’s future, the Pole reaffirms his loyalty to Barcelona.

Lewandowski has a contract with the Catalans for another two years, and his determination is to continue to be a key point for the club.

The Polish striker has a great regret that he did not win the “Golden Ball” in 2020.

The center-forward was denied this well-deserved award due to the coronavirus pandemic, which forced the organizers not to award the “Golden Ball” at all, with the prize, controversially, going to Lionel Messi the following year.

“Recently, a friend sent me some statistics. I scored 100 goals in 85 matches between 2020 and 2021. Should I now receive the ‘Golden Ball’ for 2020? It would be a wonderful thing, I would accept the award. That year was extraordinary for me, I was at the highest level, we won everything. I wouldn’t feel offended if they give me now what I deserved, it would be a great honor. I’m not angry or sad because I lack this trophy, but my feeling is that I should have won it in one of those two years,” he initially said.

Furthermore, Barcelona’s striker was asked who could win the “Golden Ball” this year.

“Who will win it this year? It’s difficult to say, because the European Championship and the decisive Champions League matches are still ahead. But, for the moment, Kylian Mbappé and Jude Bellingham are the most extraordinary players in the world for me,” the Pole concluded for “Sport Bild”.

In his 29 appearances this season in La Liga, Lewandowski has scored 13 goals and made eight assists.
