The painter, Pjetër Marku, was born on 24 March 1947 in The Fanë (Mirditë, Albania).
He attended primary school in Fanë St. John’s, while 7 years old at the Ndrec Ndue Gjoka school.
From 1962 to 1966, he completed his studies at the High School of The 8th – November in Peshkopi. From 1968 to 1973 he graduated from the Higher Institute of Arts in Tirana, where he also received the title of painter with the picture “Grape harvest”.
From 1 September 1985 to 8 July 1986 he completed the philosophy course for professional qualifications and first category Teacher. More
1 September 1966 – 13 March 1967 worked as a teacher at Konaj Elementary School.
From 16 March 1967 to 2 December of that year he worked as a teacher in The Fanë.
From 8 October 1973 to 1 September 1978 he taught artistic subjects at the high school of education in Kukes.
From 1 September 1978 to 1 September 1985 he was a teacher in the drawing subject at Bajram Curri school in Kukes.
From 1 May 2001 to 7 December 2007 he was Director of the Cultural Centre in the Lac.
From 8 December 2007 to 1 November 2012 he was the head of the historical museum in the Lac.
On 1 November 2012, Pjetër Marku retired.
From 13 December 1975 to 1992 he was a member of the LSHA of Albania.
From 1984 to 1992 he was a member of the LSHA plenum and Chairman of the LSHA branch in Kukes from 13 November 1975 to 1 September 1986.
From 2002 to 2012 he was also Chairman of the LSHA Branch in the Mirdite.
On 19 February 2013, the Association “Artistic Cultural Society” was founded in Mirdite where Pijetër Marku was appointed Chairman.
On 14 May 2019, the Academy of Art Science and Letters Mirdita was established, in which he is appointed Chairman. The activity of the Mirdita Academy of Art, Science and Letters extends to the territory of: Albania, Kosovo, Tetovo, Skopje Macedonia, Switzerland, Germany, Italy, USA in New York, etc. This association collaborates with dozens of associations inside and outside the country. Pjetër Marku is Director of Mirdita magazine, which is at No. 42 of its publication thanks to numerous donor friends. In this magazine, over 2600 articles have been published by various authors, poets, writers, scholars, journalists, etc. Mirdita magazine is distributed in 55 countries around the world, such as Australia, America, Pakistan, Turkey and almost all Balkan countries. Pjetër Mark has participated in his paintings in various collective exhibitions. For years, Pjetër has also been a participant in many national activities.
His many personal exhibitions have been presented for years in: Kukës, Dibra, Lezha, 2 exhibitions in Laç, Tirana, Rubik, Rrëshen, Mirdita, Mat, Valbona, Pogradec, Berat, Kosovo, Gjilan, Suhareka, Prizren, Gorge by Rugova, Klina, Peja, Vatican and Ravena (Italy), Rozhaja, Montenegro, etc.
