Barcelona aims to recover from their Champions League elimination in the best possible way by defeating their eternal rivals, Real Madrid, in the last “El Clasico” of the season,
Their derby will take place tomorrow at the “Santiago Bernabeu”, and this match could put an end to the title race in La Liga.
Robert Lewandowski believes they can narrow the points gap with Real Madrid.
“El Clasico is always a special game, not only for us, but for everyone in the world. For all those waiting for this game, I hope we can show football for the fans worldwide, and we are ready to win this game,” he told “La Liga World”.
The Polish striker also believes that Barcelona – unbeaten in their last 10 league matches – is heading in the right direction, after a massive shake-up in the middle of the season.
“On one hand, we respect his decision [Xavi’s] and now we are focused only on this season because we know it’s very important. We’ve sorted out some problems and challenges we’ve had, and the way now is very, very good, and we are still fighting, still trying to win every match, and we try to do this until the end of the season,” said “Lewa”.
The 35-year-old also spoke about Barcelona’s “new weapons”, who have been excellent so far. Furthermore, he revealed that he expects to play alongside them for the next two years.
“It helps me a lot to talk to the younger players, to Lamine, Fermin Lopez, Hector (Fort) as well as Pau (Cubarsi), they are all wonderful. I am very happy and feel very good, and also on the path we are going now, I think we have found our way. Physically, I feel very good, which means I can play at a high level and I am sure that for two years I will be compared to other players,” declared Lewandowski.
